Guidelines

1. Any white paper (no writing on the back side) will work fine. Paper should be no larger than 8.5"x11" and no smaller than 5"x7". Do not fold, staple or crease the paper before or after use.

2. Draw with bright, bold and vivid colors. The more solid the color, the better it will reporduce. Very light color or very thin lines may be difficult to see. For this reason, color markers (both thin and thick), incs and finger paints (and other solid paints) are suggested over crayons or color pencils. However, these mediums may be used successfully with consistant cover (note artwork to the left).

Art Suggestions

Be creative. There is no limit to the number of card fronts you may submit. Think about all the occasions you exchange cards for: Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthday's Party Invitations, Thank You's and so many more. Having trouble with concepts? Here are just a few suggestions.

Fundraiser Suggestions

To have a successful fundraiser...

1. Establish a purpose and goal. Why do you need to fundraise? Are you buying new uniforms or musical instruments? How much do you need?

Determining a goal then sharing it with your community via any source available to you (newsletter, website, flyers, etc.)

2. Think ahead and get guy in from others in your organization. Think about things like:

  • When might teaching staff have the best opportunity to incorporate art into their curriculum? Getting support from teaching staff helps ensure a successful program. Scheduling a fundraiser during testing weeks or large class projects could result in less interest and therefore a less successful program.
  • How long does it take to get a fundraising idea approved internally? Once requested, it will likely take a full week to receive a Decision Maker Information Packet from FundraiserGreetings through the mail. Do you have meetings scheduled where you’ll have to present the information or are you the sole decision maker?
  • Are there school events that could help kickoff or highlight your fundraising event? For example a booth at the school Spring Carnival or Back to School Night could provide a larger audience and more focused attention to a fundraiser program.

3. Get organized and advertise. This fundraiser really does run itself so little work is required once you decide to move forward with a FundraiserGreetings program. Most organizational decisions willl be made prior to receiving Parent Packets. You will however want to select someone to work with the FundraiserGreetings coordinator as well as assign tasks such as distributing packets, hanging posters, collecting order envelopes and distributing card orders once fullfilled.

The key however is to advertise. Create a buzz about the program. Ensure parents know what's going on and get excited about participating. Share timeframes and whether or not time will be provided in class for art creation. Be sure parents know that they, or others in their family, may also personally submit art or photographs when placing orders, further increasing your participation and fundraising return.

FundraiserGreetings provides posters, letters and samples to assist with marketing and advertising to your community. However you'll want to use every resource at your disposal to communicate the fundraising program. Do you have a website, a weekly or monthly newsletter? Do you have a facebook page or send emails to parents regularly?
